THE OPEN HOUSE FOR JULY welcomes back oil painter, Chauncey Homer, of Corona Arizona, near Tucson. This will be the third year we have had the pleasure to have Chauncey show with us. Chauncey paints a wide variety of subject matter including landscapes, architecture, figures, animals, and still life. He began his career as an illustrator, as is the case with some of the finest realist painters including many who show at The Grapevine. For this open house Chauncey will bring both new finished paintings and studies available for collection. Chauncey has also agreed to do enlargements of the studies if anyone should be interested. OPEN HOUSE TIMES for the July are Friday the 23rd from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. Saturday the 24th from 1:30 – 4:00 P.M. and Sunday the 25th from 1:30 – 3:30 P.M. and by appointment. Chauncey has agreed to do a painting demonstration at 2:00pm on Saturday. Obviously we are very excited to watch Chauncey demonstrate his talent as the demonstrations at the open houses have only grown in popularity. THE DRUNCH THIS YEAR was one to remember. Not only did we have numerous new pieces by our artists on display, but also there were a few new events that took place this year that we hope will become a tradition in the future. Thursday before The Drunch we hosted a “Drunch Preview” of the show. Friday we were extremely fortunate to have a painting demonstration by Dan Gerhartz who enjoyed his hilarious, live model/sculptor Kent Ullberg. At the same time, Dan Telleen demonstrated the process in which his jewelry is created. Both of the new events were well received and we plan on doing them both again next year. SAVE THE DATES for the open houses listed below. Going into the fall we have a wonderful lineup of open houses planned. Please be sure to save the dates below: August 20th through the 22nd will feature oil painter Jimmy Dyer September no open house, by appointment only October 8th through the 10th will feature painter Phil Starke November 5th – 7th will feature painter Jerry Fritzler THIS MONTH’S BACK PAGE we would like to announce and discuss the details of a new “branch” of The Grapevine. We will begin scheduling appointments for Grapevine Archiving. This service will include the archiving, inventory, appraisal and off site storage of information regarding personal art collections. This is a service that has been in the planning phase for about a year now. Information needed to be gathered so that we could provide the most appropriate and best level of service possible. Obviously the benefits of a properly documented collection are numerous for collectors, however we feel that the most common needs will be for insurance purposes and/ or estate planning.
