Dan Howe

Dan Howe creates drawings and paintings for corporations, universities, public institutions and private collectors. He paints in a broad variety of subjects, usually in oil.His subjects are characterized by strong effects of light and shadow interlaced with background tones. This style is commonly referred to most painters as a "pattern" or "lost and found" approach. Howe's work also pay's particular attention to tonal edges and color harmonies. Detail, while not photographic, is ample.

He has taught for the American Academy, was an Associate Lecturer for the University of Wisconsin system at both Stevens Point and OshKosh and taught workshops for the Scottsdale Artist School.

His commercial clients include Marvin Windows and Doors, Binney and Smith, Conde Nast Publications, Rogers Video. He has painted portraits for San Fransico General Hospital, Oregon Health Sciences University, Southern Illinois Medical Center, York Hospital, and University of Michigan.
